Week 6 - Creating connection for Rear door

Objective :

To perform the connections of the rear door of the car with different connections techniques.

PROCEDURE :

• Inputs the files rear door to ANSA

• Set the seperate PIDs for different spot welding parts

for holes there bolts is used, give a COG points to the holes in parts that need to be connected .convert the COG points to abolts.use the connection manager and connect the parts by selecting BOLTS FEATURE .

NASTRAN MODULE >ELEMENTS>RBE2>MANY NODES can be used to create a custer element for bolt holes when there are no different properties defined to parts.

create ZONE CUT for bolt holes which is not connected to manny parts ,create RBE2 connections along with washer elements around the holes

For the door himge connection create RBE2 cluster elements in order to make the movement of rear door towards one directions delete the six degree of freedom under NASTRAN>ELEMENTS>INFO

For connection involved in SPOT WELDING

• select the nodes and covert it into spot welding points
• RBE3-HEXA-RBE3 is the representation for spot welding.

Handle connection are made using RBE2 elements along with CONMi>CONM2>NODES in order to give mass representation of the handle as tonnes.

Connection for windows

• create curve around the perimeter of the window
• trnasform them into spot lines
• select the lines after opening CONNECTIONS MANAGER RBE3-CBUSH-RBE3 is used to represent Window Connection because windows are connected with soft bending to absorb shocks
• assing parts for connections cbush elements
• repeat this for another window.
• change the co-ordinates to 0 in CBush properties so it gets globally alinged towards one direction

CONCLUSION:

• Rigid body elements are connected
• spot welding components connection are made
• CBUSH elements are represented
• Mass of Handle is represented
• degree of freedom assigned for hinges
