In EV and HEV system,the following power converters are used.

AC-DC converters for onboard charges to charge the EV

there are two tpes of AC-DC converters.

I)Controlled Converter

II)uncontrolled converter

DC-DC converter for battery to low level conversion equipments

There are three basic types of Choppers.

I)Boost converter

II) Buck Converter

III)Buck-Boost Converter

and some other special choppers also available like sepic converter, Cuk converter etc,.

DC-AC converter from battery to motor terminals

Three Types of Inverters are available

I) single phase Inverter

II)Three phase Inverter

III)multiphase Inverter

According to quthors point of view, in the near future there gonna be the big battle betwwen induction and brushless DC motor.

Now a days brushless motor playing a vital role in EV and PHEV .

Its time to rewamp the technologies, both the machines are having the similar in hardware and construction. To address the latest trend in HEV, both the machines will contribute more space for EV Era.
