Week-6 Challenge: EV Drivetrain

1. electric vehicle :- an electric vehicle (EV) is avehicle that user once or more electric vehicle motors for propulsion an electric vehicle may be powerd through the collectir system by electricity from off vehicle sourse

hybrid electric vehicle:- a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is a types of hybrid vehicles that combine aconvertional internal combustion engine (ICE) system with an electric propulsion engine(ICE) system with an electric propulsion system

power converter circuit for electric and hybrid electric vehicles:-

Ev power supply show that at least one DC/Dc converter is necessary to interface the FC, the battery or the supercapacitor modules to the DC link DC/DC converter can be design to the transfer power in only one direction from the input to the output

NON - ISOLATED CONVERTERS :- the non isolated converter types is generally used the voltage needed to be stepped up or down by a relatively small ratio (less than 4:1). there is no problem with the output and input having no dielectric isolation

ISOLATED CONVERTERS:- this types of converter high frequency transformer is used the output needed to be completely isolated from the input , an isolated converter is necessarythere are many types of converter half-bridge , full bridge , fly back , forward and push-pullDC/DC converter

non-isolated converter

BUCK:- a buck converter (step down converter)a DC to DC power converter which step down voltage input supply and output load switches mode power supply (SMPS) typically containing at least two semiconductor a doide and a transistor althrough moder buck converter frequency and second transistor used synchronous rectificatin

BOOST:- A boost converter (step-up converter) is a DC to DC converter that steps up voltage from inputs (supply) output(load) switch mode power supply (SMPS) two semicondustor diode and a transistor and one last energy storage element capacitor and inductor the two in combination

BUCK-BOOST:- the back boost converter is a types of DCto DC converter that has outnput voltage mangitude that is either greater than or less than input voltage magitude it is equivalent to a fly converter using a singke inductor instead of a transfromer

CUK:- The cuk converter is a tyes of buck boost converter with zero ripple cuk converter can be seen as a combination of boost converter and buck converter having one switching

CHARGE PUMP:- a charge pump is kind of DC to DC conveter that used capacitor for energetic cahrger store to raise or lower voltage . high frequency 90-95% simple circuit

isloated converter

HALF BRIDGE:- a half bridge converter is a types of DC to DC converter that like flyback and forward converter can supply an output voltage either higher and lower than input voltage

FULL BRIDGE:- the full bridge converter adds two additional transistors to that half bridge converter that four transistor are avilable to produced power to the output secion types of converter is used in power supplies 1000watts

PUSH PULL:- the switch mode power evolved , additional adjustments to the original circuit have been mode to get more power from smaller components

2. Electric vehicle powertrain with 72v battery pack

rated armature voltage = 72v

rated armature current = 400A

Ra = 0.5ohm

frequency = 400Hz

duty cycle = 0.7

0.7*72 = 50.4v

t = 50.4 . 0.7/0.5-((0.7)^2/0.5).w

70.56-0.98.w

0.0015w^2 + 0.98w - 45.86 = 0

w = -231.072rad/sec

EV steady state speed if dduty cycle is = 70% = 38.915rad/sec or 371 RPM

3. DC brusssssshless motor about its part specification and what is called and next description about induction motor three phase induction motor can produce

when directly connected to fixed frequency utility power and also inverter

high performance is peak efficieny willbe a little than with DC brusless, but average efficiency may acutally be better
