3 answer :

1.Build the speed torque characteristics mathematical equation in speed_torque simulink file .

2.taken armature resistance as ra = 0.5 ohms.

3.speed constant kphi as 0.7 V/rad/sec.

4.Terminal voltage V = 100V.

5. Given electromagnetic torque as input for simulation as ramp signal with slope 1 which goes from 0 to 10 Nm in 10 seconds.

6.output is speed in rad/sec observed in scope.

result after running simulation for 10seconds.

4 answer :

1.Author telling about advantages and disadvantages of induction motor and brushless dc motors .He said brushless dc motors will dominate in hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles and induction motors are more dominant in pure electric vehicles..he also said if perormance of brushless dc motor is increased in future both dcmotor and induction motor may sit side by side in hybrid and electric vehicles since most of the hardware is common.

2.Dc brushless motor has no starting torque while connected to utility supply since it needs aid of inverter whose phase is in step with rotor angular position where as induction motor is self starting motor. But induction motor shaft speed is proportional to line frequency and as limited starting and running torque when compared to DC motor.

3.In brushless DC motor cooling of rotor is easy and its also can be operated at unity power factor, so peak power efficiency of dc motor is more than Induction motor.

4. The strength of magnetic field in brushless dc can be adjusted. if torqued requirement is more B can be increased so current drawn from inverter can be reduced, so copper losses can be minimized.

5.But in induction motor there are no permanent magnets. during light load conditions voltage can be reduced using smart inverter such that B can be reduced since v/f is reduced .so inductionmotor with smart inverter has advantages than dc motor in efficiency improvement and increasing performance.
