Quality Criteria for meshing
1. Import the Hood Geometry into the Hypermesh using the Import grometry option
2. First Step is to delete all the solid parts from the geometry
3. Next step is is to clean the geometry and then extracting mid surface of all the surfaces
Note: Used quick edit menu to clean the geometry and various other options, and then automid surface with skin offset.
4. Setting the mesh quality criteria from the preferences
5.When the mid surface is finnally extracted, it's time to mesh the component one by one ans step by step
6. The mesh quality is improved by using the quality index menu and remeshing different elements
Note: (i) Drag tria was used to remove the opposite tria elements
(ii) Elememt optimise was used to eptimise the elements shape and size
(iii) Combinetria and split quad was a handy tool to make the element optimise
7. Smooth and remesh, and smooth and drag tria was one of the best combination to optimise esh flow and remove opposite trias
8. The inner and outer pannel was half meshed and the elements were duplicated and reflected for the other half
9. Finf edge tool is used to check for edges in between the elements and then the equivalence was done to make the connection between the two sides of the meshed elements.
10. After the mesh was done and the mesh was visually optimised then it was checked for quality criteria, suggested modifications were done in the mesh to fit in quality criteria
11. When the mesh fit the quality criteria, then the further tests were done for the same
(i) Edge: Made sure there is no free edge in between the meshed are, if there is any it was then removed either by equivalence or by replace node or by element delete and creating new element
(ii) Normal: Normal was checked in colour mode, when the direction was opposite for the element, then the direction was reversed for the same
(iii) The elements were checked for multiple dependencies
(iv) Mesh was checked for how much the mesh is deviated from the original component surface
When no unmatched elements were found in the mesh and the mesh satidfies all the quality criteria then the meshing process waas completed
Conclusion:
1. Geometry Cleanup
2. Extracting Mid-Surface
3. Meshing
4. Quality Controled Mesh Optimising
5. Quality Check for mesh
