Week- 5 - Solid meshing

Week- 5 - Solid meshing

AIM

To check the given Rear view mirror component for the geometrical errors and mesh the Surfaces with the given 2D element Quality criteria are given below.

PROCEDURE

  • First as usual we have to import the component into our work space
  • after import the component we have to check the component
  • and we give the length by our visible and our convenience
  • after that we have to give the topo the whole component
  • go to topo-faces - topo
  • and select the whole component to assign the topo
  • after that we have to mesh the component
  • in curved area we have to give the ortho tria
  • in flat surface we can give both ortho tria or normal tria
  • to assign the mesh value and quality criteria for shell and solid elemnts
  • S.No

    Quality Criteria

    Value

    1

    Target/Average length

    2

    Minimum Length

    0.5

    3

    Maximum Length

    2

  • Tet collapse

    0.2

  • first give the ortho tria in all the curved surface
  • and then gave the normal tria in flat surface
  • by this method mesh the whole component
  • after mesh the whole component we have to check the element failure
  • by using reconstruct, smooth, allign, split option we have to sort out the element failure
  • after clear the elemnt failure
  • now have to assign the volume for the component
  • go to volume mesh- volume -and define the volume respectively
  • after assign respective part
  • we can remesh the part
  • after remesh the all the part
  • we can check the component
  • no we can check the max value and min value and tet collapse

RESULT

For the given Rear view mirror component, we check for the geometrical errors and mesh the Surfaces with the given 2D element Quality criterias and we Use tetra elements to mesh the Volumes defined in the model
