Week - 5 - Modelling Spotwelds

AIM: To model Spot-weld for the given Assembly.

Procedure:

1. Open spotweld.k keyword file.

2. Create section shell of thickness 1.5 mm

3. Define material property for elastic steel

4. Specify respective section and material to part

5. Create an entity of rigidwall of planar 1n+NL at a distance of 15 mm from edge. Apply a velocity of 50 kmph to the nodes.

6. Give termination and contact information.

Spot Model for Beam

1. Define beam of spot weld between shell

2. Create Material spot weld

3. Create section for Beam element

4. Define contact detial of beam elements.

Spot weld model of solid element:

Save keyword File and run for termination

RESULT

Von-Mises Stress

Plots GLSAT and nodal acceleration

Conclusion:

The spot weld are modelled and simulation is carried with time-dependent failure.
