Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly

Aim : For the given models, check for the geometrical errors and delete surfaces which are unwanted for Surface wrap. After clearing geometry, Merge all 3 models and perform surface wrap.

procedure to surface wrap :

• firstly for the given engine model external unwanted surface we deleting by draging and deleting
• Because there lot of unwanted surafce we hiding the wanted surface and deleting the unwanted surface
• This unwanted surface is shown in image1
• So after deleting unwanted surface of engine. We closing all holes or openings which the portion is not undergoing merging. This engine after geometry clean is shown in image2
• Similarly transmission we cleaning the geometry and closing the holes or opening which the portion not undergoing merging. So this transmission geometry error and after geometry clean is shown in image3
• similarly we doing in gear and this geometry clean is shown in image4
• So after the geometry clean we merging the engine, transmission and gearbox by merge option
• first the engine then in file merge option there by clicking and selecting on saved transmission file we merging the engine and transmission Then after transmission gearbox is merging similarly
• This merged of engine,transmission and gearbox is shown in image5
• So after merging we compressing the pids and then in meshing in element section wrap option there. So by selecting the constant length and by double clicking on parameter giving target length and element type we wraping the surface successfully This wrapped final model is shown in image6

Learning outcome :

• In this challenge we learn how to clean the unwanted suface of the given model, Then how to merge two component and how to surface wrap
