Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
Aim:
To perform geometrical clearance and delete the surface which are not necessary and make surface wrap. After clearing merge all the three model .
Given :
1) Engine model
2) Gear box model
3) Transmission model.
Target length as 3mm
Consider
Engine model:
Import the given engine model

Remove or delete the surface which is not fitted with the body. Because the surface wrapping is done only at the body.

External parts along with triple and single cons are present in the surface area is get rectified.

PID REGION ----> SELECT THE NEEDED PID REGION ----> DELETE the unwanted rings , springs, rubber.
close the holes which are expose outside to make surface wrap finely.
Gear Box model :

delete the unwanted surface at the outer area, where the inner areas are not bothered.
For that do TOPO for entire model.
After topo there found a triple cons and it has to be cleared.
converted into
Take reference from the wire frame model and find the single and triple con
and try to rectify it.
Transmission box:
Import the transmission box model

Now delete the unwanted faces on the surface which create triple cons and single cons.
By using OR ----> PID ----> select the nut region ----> isolate the nut area and remove the triple cons
converted into
Once completed by clearing all the surface area without single and double con which is unnessary . Try to fill all the holes by FILL option .
Once all the three model geometry checks are cleared. merge the model for the desired surface wrap.
FILE ----> MERGE ----> Fill the dialouge box ----> merge with current model.
select the transmission box and gear box one by one and apply
merged with zero error
then gear box.

all the models are merged with zero error.
Now Surface wrapping done.
CLASSIC MESH DECK ----> ELEMENTS ----> WRAP ----> CONSTANT LENGTH ----> Target length given ----> SAVE THE NAME ---->COMPRESS THE PID ELEMENT ----> OK
then
next
followed by
Finally by clicking OK surface wraping for the given target length is performed.

Conclusion:
Surface wraping is done for external flow analysis.
here the given three model are undergone geometry check and merged and finally surface wrapped.
