Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
Objective: Make the surface wrap for all assembled models after removing unwanted geometries from the model.
Procedure:
- First, we must clean the geometry by removing all unwanted surfaces in the Engine, Gearbox, and Transmission models.

- Now merge the three components into a single one.

- Giving target length an selecting which PIDs we need to wrap.

Ater wrapping :

Learning Outcomes:
- Understood proper geometry cleanup.
- Identifying and removing unwanted geometrical parts.
- Assembling of different geometries.
- Applying the wrap tool on the assembly.
Results: The wrap tool helps analyze external flows where the internal components won't affect the solution.
The shape capturing depends on the element size if it is less then it captures properly and if it is high it won't capture the proper shape.
Conclusions:
The amount of fineness of the wrap depends on the element size.
The small element size leads to an increase in the number of elements and computational effort, and cost.
For the optimized solution we need to consider all the parameters like effort, and cost which is done grid independence test.
