Challenge

Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly

AIM:

To Merge all 3 models (Engine, Transmission, Gear Box) and generate surface wrap over them using ANSA software for the constrain.

Procedure:

Step 1: Generate Ansa file which is given along with challenge.

Step 2: Clean the geometrical error with the help of topology tools.

Step 3: After topology cleanup, merge all 3 models.

Step 4: close the open spaces in the outer surface of the model.

Step 5: Delete unwanted PID’s using compress option.

Step 6: Then go to mesh use wrap option for surface wrap.

Step 7: Apply wrap function to all PID’s.

Step 8: In mesh parameters set the target length.

Step 9: Run constant wrap option for surface wrap.

Step 10: Surface wrap done successfully.

Learning outcomes:

  • Topology cleanup for surface wrap.
  • Merging of different models in single Graphical User Interface.
  • Surface wrapping for a model.

Result:

Thus, the surface wrapping for the given models is generated successfully.

Conclusion:

I have studied the different types of tools used in the geometric error clean up and surface wrapping during the challenge completions of surface wrap on automotive assembly.
