Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
AIM : *We are going to do assembly for three parts..Engine, Gearbox and Transmission model
*Merge the three parts
*Do Surface Wrapping
OBJECTIVE: We are going to do a complete closed geometry and external flow analysis...Here we don't have to check for internal errors, it's applicable for all complex geometry and we don't have to create any connections here
PROCEDURE:
In this geometry, We can check the errors by seeing outside because we can't do a geometry check
There was so many unnecessary parts which was not connected and some will be connected but it wasn't necessary so we can clear it all......It's difficult to clear all the parts so we can use NOT option and select the engine parts so the unnecessary parts were easy to delete
After Clearing the parts there will be some parts which was not properly joined so we can hit a topo and clear the extra faces
We have to close all the opening or it will cause a distortion
After doing the engine part, we can check for gear box and transmission
In both parts, there will be triple cons and single cons which will create a error so we can clear them all
After checking out the three parts, we can merge it by File - merge - select the required part - merge the three parts one by one and check whether there is any error
Merge the engine with transmission
And with the gearbox
If there is any opening in the three parts, we have to check, close them all and go for surface wrap
We can't assing the PIDs because there was several parts but we can do a compress which will clear all the unnecessary parts
After this, we can do the surface wrap by
Classic - Elements - Wrap - Constant length - a popup box will appear and clicking on it another box will appear
In parameters, we can change the name as whatever we want, choose the target length and set the mesh as tria and apply
In Contents, we have to assign the components and we have to select all the parts
After this, we have to give run option, it will perform the surface wrap and it wil be ready
The Surface wrap is done...!!!
