Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
Aim- To clean all geometry of all the three geometry ( Engine, transmission, gear box) and perform surface wrap with given target length.
Surface Wrap :- . It is an advanced form of surface meshing which is used to mesh a model, with the increasing complexity of working geometry only the meshing & analysis time is more. In external or internal CFD flow analysis only the surface which is in contact with the fluid is considered. So reduced the computation and meshing time we prefer this technique.
Procedure :-
Engine :- First hide all the PID one by one and delete all the unnecessary surfaces, rings are present there and outside of geometry.
Delete unwanted overlapping surfaces present at engine outside surface.

clear Engine :-

Transmission :-

In transmission there are triple coons are present in bolts so that we delete those unwanted surface and replace with single coons

Gear Box :-

Merge :- Merge all three elements of power train by using,on left side there are FILE option then select MERGE then select file for merging then ok, then we get-

Surface Wrap:- Before continue for surface wrap we have to filled all the holes present in the geometry, because to perform the surface meshing our surface must be completely closed. As the meshing is the segregation of the large surface into smaller parts and open surface can not be segregated in the given smaller target length. we are doing all three components mesh together because for all components target lengths are same.
For surface wrap we have to use classic mesh then go to in elements section and then select wrap then constant length then click on the status then provide inputs like parameters (called target length),contents(select all PID) then run, after provide run it takes atleast fifteen to twenty minutes to do surface wrap.
target length = 3 mm

Single volume :- for confirming it is single volume give NOT for hide some parts from both sides and see the single volume.

Conclusion:- Surface wrap was created for all the three components, merged them and made a single volume.
