Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim :- Surface meshing of pressure valve with different target length.

Pressure Valve :- Pressure Valve (relief valve) is a type of safety valve used to control or limit the pressure in a system.

Procedure:-

First we have to clean goemetry so for that we clear all topologically error, then check intersection error in the checks manager then we found error shows in below image

clear this errors by using 'intersect' option in the faces. There are some unwanted surfaces who we dont need that surface so we delet it keep those surfaces we need.

Then clear all the single coons present in the geometry

For clear that coons we have to create new surface.

Assigning PID :-

  1. Inlet
  2. Outlet
  3. Spring
  4. Column
  5. Body

Mesh Generation :-

Before mesh generation we need to provide length as perimeter and macros with parameter and mesh quality criteria. We provide whole geometrical length and macros 1 mm , 3 mm and 5 mm respectevely. For mesh generation I use spot mesh option.

For 1 mm

For 5 mm

For 3 mm

Links for three diffrent lengths for 1 mm , 3 mm, 5 mm respectevely:-

Conclusion :- mesh size of 1mm will be more suitable compare to others it capture exact profile and free from distortion of surfaces.
