Week 5
Objective:-
For the given component, check for the geometrical errors and mesh with the given element Quality criteria. Use tetra elements to model the component and there should not and kinks and dips on the surface of the component.

All the component must satisfy the given quality criteria and must possess a good mesg flow.
Procedure followed:-
Import the component provided.

There were many discrepancies in the model. So using fine option we have cleaned up the geometry to match the good edges of the mirror assembly.

After geometry cleanup using fine option we got the following edges.

As there were single cons thus performing topo

Geometry checkup for any triple cons, needle faces, intersections or cracks.

Now using spot-mesh command , meshing each component individually.

Post meshing all the components individually, now we will be checking for any quality failures if any. In my mesh no quality failures are found.
Now tetra meshing the components individually one by one. For tetra meshing first we have to define the component by Volumes – Define –Manual. Then from the Volumes – List command we will be remeshing the defined volumes one by one. After the meshing is done we will be renaming the components.

Checking for quality criteria, we found out that a total of 9700 elements were failing. Out of the the three quality criteria the most important is tet collapse. Which were 17 in number. Fixing the tet collapse elements using Improve – Fix quality – Visible. Post tet collapse we will be refining the min length and the max length elements.

Conclusion:-
The tetra meshed component with all the satisfying criteria is all we got.
