Week - 5 - 2D meshing for Plastic components

OBJECTIVE:

To do 2D meshing for given Plastic Component.

CAD MODEL:

Symmetrical Bottle Cap

PROCEDURE:

  1. First property have to check whether how many properties are there.
  2. Do orient for given Model.
  3. Topo > Faces > Orient.
  4. Do geometry check if any errors arise clear it by using Cons> Paste or else Face> Cut, Delete, New & Topo.
  5. After geometry check, do measurements for all the parts.
  6. After measure do offset for take mid surface extraction.
  7. For this challenge I did manual mid surface extraction by using Face>Offset.
  8. There are many different thickness portions present so i took mid surface separately.
  9. Some part have noticed for average thickness for that part the mid surface are taken by using "middle" command.
  10. Since it is Plastic component So there is some process done here which is extend.
  11. The extend is used because different thickness components are take mid surface so there is some gap formed inbetween those portion.
  12. To avoid that gap, "extend" option is used.
  13. After that, quality criteria is given for Meshing.
  14. 2D meshing is done by using best option tool.
  15. After Meshing clear the quality issues if it is present.
  16. Once meshing completed Thickness have assigned for all parts.

HERE I HAVE ATTACHED SOME IMPORTANT IMAGES WHICH IS BELONGS TO THIS PROJECT.

CONCLUSION:

Hence the given geomentry has meshed successfully as per the given quality criteria and thickness assigned for all the different thickness parts.
