Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2
1.
Mapped models:
Mapped models are used when the behavior of a particular model is not of our interest and can be modeled with predefined values in the form of lookup tables.

Dynamic model:
Dynamic model decomposes the engine behaviour into engine characteristics that are seperated into lower level blocks. Combining these blocks together to form a dynamic model

For changing model type
1.Select the Model which you want to configure
2.Choose Variant Manager
3.Right Click the Model you wish to choose and then Set as Label Mode Active Choice

2.
miles per gallon

factors considered to model fuel flow are:
1) Vehicle Speed
2) Fuel Flow
3) Battery Power
HEV model has separate blocks to calculate the MPG Which are shown below.

3.
This diagram shows the powertrain configuration of HEV

Run the command by entering it in the MATLAB Command Window
autoblkHevStart
we are directed to the model
Double-clicking on the drive cycle block this window will pop up

Inside this window, we can change our drive cycle from default to wide-open throttle and also can change
speed, time, acceleration, and simulation time.click ok to continue.

output:

now we will put grade value and wind and see the results

output:

conclusion:
From the two graphs it is clear that with the increase in grade and wind velocity,
peak velocity achieved is reduced as gradient force and aerodynamic force becomes dominant.
fuel economy is also reduced because the distance traveled is reduced due to external forces.
deceleration time is reduced so battery recharging capacity is also reduced.
Battery SOC at the end of WOT acceleration is similar but during deceleration battery is charged more is the grade and wind velocity is less.
4.
EV REFERENCE APPLICATION MODEL:

model:

output:

now we will put grade value and wind and see the results

output:
EV model:

HEV model:

conclusion:
Time taken to achieve the required peak velocity is less for HEV as compared to EV
Deceleration time is also low for HEV
fuel economy is more for an EV compared to HEV
Battery current is less for HEV than EV
