Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1.

opened the Advisor tool

click on start then a new window opens

so in the window we have selected EV_defaults_in and changed the cargo mass to 500kg with all default conditions.click continue

In the next window we have to change the drive cycle to FTP drive cycle.so one FTP drive cycle is for 17km so in order to check that the vehicle can travel for 45km we have taken 4 FTP drive cycles and click on run so the results are obtained as shown below

so as the ouput shows that the vehicle can't go the desired range of 45km.

2.

so here we have changed the battery module to ESS_AnnexVII_SHEV_NIMH28 so that total voltage is increased.

so by running this with all other parameters same as in first case,the output is as shown below

so the from the results it is clear that the vehicle can now travel upto 71km in 4 FTP drive cycles.

3.gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_

so we have selected the gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_ and keeping all the parameters as default values

so in the next window select the driving cycle and repeat for 4 cycles and click on the selection for gradeability test

then change the gradability parameters

so here first we choose speed 60mph and duration of 20sec

so we get the outputs as:

So we can conclude by saying that, as speed increases the gradeability decreases.
