Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2

1st Answer

Mapped

Model uses a set of steady-state lookup tables to characterize engine performance.

The tables provide overall engine characteristics, including actual torque, fuel flow rate, BSFC, and engine-out exhaust emissions.

  • If you have engine data from a dynamometer or a design tool like GT-POWER.

  • For quasi steady-state engine simulations.

Dynamic

Model decomposes the engine behavior into engine characteristics that are separated into lower-level components. By combining components in this way, the models capture the dynamic effects.

  • If you need a more detailed dynamic model and have component-level data.

  • To analyze the impact of individual engine components on the overall performance.

we can differentiate the two by saying that mapped engine motor or generator is fixed data to simulate

while the dynamic requires the data to import externally

2nd Answer

New Odometer When Tank Refill - Old Odometer From Previous Refill = Miles Driven

Example

  1. You paid $5 for a gallon of gas, and you get 10 miles-per-gallon (mpg).
  2. Your intuitive answer would be $.50 a mile. Your intuitive answer would be correct.
  3. $5 paid, divided by 10 miles traveled per gallon (mpg), gives you $.50 cost per mile.
  4. 5/10 = $.50 cost-per-mile

the main factors affected are:

1. vehicle maintenance

2. fuel variations

3. vehicle variations

4. engine break-in

3rd Answer

the WOT(wide open throttle test ) has been conducted on a hybrid electric vehicle and the results of the variation in speed current and motor speed have been mentioned

the parameters of this test are set as follows

grade=0;

wind velocity=0;

motor current=240amp;

now the grade and wind velocity has been changed to figure out the response

grade=10;

wind velocity=15;

grade =15;

wind velocity=10;

it can be seen in the plots shown that the speed of the vehicle reduces drastically due to changes in the grade and wind velocity,

we must have to improve the performance of the vehicle by changing its battery capacity or motor ratings

4th Answer

this is the simulated result of EV with WOT response the vehicle has almost reached the speed of 100mph with out any grade or wind forces

let us now check the response with the forces acting on it,

by applying the forces of wind and gradability the vehicle reduces its speed to half of the original speed.
