Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2
Q1.What is the difference between mapped and dynamic model of engine, motor and generator? How can you change model type?
ans-
a)Dynamic model-
dynamic model run on actual model.dynamic model is represent the actaul components.
eg. motor model
In below model, motor components such as inverter, phase contoller are modelled

b)mapped model-
mapped model is aslo known as static model.it work as faster.
mapped model runs at data given in lookup table.
eg. mapped motor
In below model values are taken from experiment or old data.

Change model type-
We can use the varint manger in modeling tab to find the variant system we have.Right click on model u want and use set as label mode active choice.

Q2How does the model calculate miles per gallon? Which factors are considered to model fuel flow?
ans-
simulink block to calculate per gallon

1)As per the US environmental protection agency(EPA) 1 gallon of gasoline is equal to 33.7 kWh.
2)battery power data is used to find power used in KWH.
3)vehicle speed data is used to calculate the distance traveled in meters.
4)Then this data is converted into miles.
5)Dividing distance traveled in miles by the number of gallons, we can get miles per gallon.
6)For HEV this gallon is added with gallon used by IC engine then miles per gallon is calculated.
Q3Run the HEV ReferenceApplication with WOT drive cycle. Change the grade and wind velocity in the environment block. Comment on the results.
ans-
1) click to open the reference HEV application.

2) double click on environment ,we get

3)Grade - 0, wind velocity 0m/s

4)Grade - 5, wind velocity 10m/s

5)Grade - 15, wind velocity 30m/s

6)with increase in grade and wind velocity,
a) Due to the external forces, distance travelled vehicle reduced so fuel economy also reduced.
b)Batter recharging capacity is reduced so declaration time reduced.
c)peak velocity achieved is reduced as gradient force and aerodynamic force becomes dominant.
d)During deceleration battery is charged more is the grade and wind velocity is less.
