Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2
1 ) What is the difference between mapped and dynamic model of engine , motor and generator ? How can you change model type ?

Mapped Engine :
- Mapped engines represent macro engine behavior as a set of lookup tables( brake torque ,fuel flow , air mass flow , exhaust temperature , efficiency , and emissions ) as a function of commanded load and measured engine speed .
- Mapped engine models are suitable for analysis and design activities that do not require engine subsystem dynamics characteristics .
Dynamic engine :

- Dynamic engine decompose engine behavior into individual component models that account for engine dynamics , intake airflow and turbocharger dynamics .
- dynamic engine models are suitable for designing control , estimator , and dianostic algorithms that depend on dynamic subsystem states .
Mapped Motor :
In this model the motor get controlled by just the tabulated values of readly available torque and speed of the motor through the table data.
The motor control is done by its input torque control with respect to motor and its power value . motor can be parameterised by maximum torque and power or tabulated torque speed envelop .
Electric losses parameters are also given through the linked tabulated datas. The inputs for this blocks are motor speed and motor torque command

Dynamic motor :
Dynamic motor are used when we are having the specifications of motor as additional information .
We can give motor parameter with their internal parts specification values but not as in mapped motor .
Changing model type :
We can change the type of the model by right click the block we have to change.
Then goto varient - Lable model active choice - Then select Dynamic or Mapped type.
2 ) Calculation of miles per gallon:

- First Battery power output is converted into KW by dividing it by 1000 .
- Then power is converted into US EPA km/US gallon equivalent value by dividing it by 33.7.
- Now dividing it with 3600 to convert it in hr and multiply it with 0.00378541 to convert into m3/gal.
- The value is added with fuel volume flow and integrated to get volume in m3.
- To convert m3 into mile gain block is used with value of 264.172.
- Now dividing it by US gallon value ,we get miles/gal value .
