Week 4- Challenge

OBJECTIVE
To create 1D elements on the following component with given cross-section and DOF

PROCEDURE



Create Beam section collectors in an order to determine the property card
Select as HyperBeam View and create from standard section accordingly, required from the hypermesh and optistruct

To create a Rod element at selective part with translational D.O.F. by 1D > rigids > tick d.o.f. ( 1-3 ) and elem types as RBE2
Create a property card with card image as PROD and the beam selection as rod
Finally, 1D > rods select the mid-nodes & determine the property card
Switch to 1D Traditional and detailed element representation

Create a Beam, bar element at selective part with translational D.O.F. by 1D > rbe3 > required d.o.f.
Create a property card with card image as PBEAM, PBAR and beam selection as beam, bar
Finally, 1D > bars select the mid-nodes & determine the property card
Switch to 1D Traditional and detailed element representation

Create a rigids signifying both the components to distribute a mass uniformly at mid
To apply the mass at the rigid 1D > Masses create a node for distribution



Create a spring at both ends by 1D > springs with d.o.f. 2 at the orientation constraining no vector

CONCLUSION
