Week - 4 - 2D meshing for Plastic components
Aim :
For the given Plastic Bottle Cap model, check for the geometrical errors and take the mid surface by suitable mid surfacing techniques. PID and Thickness assignment has to be done for all the mid surfaces. Mesh the same with given element Quality criteria.

Steps involved in this challenge:
- Geometry clean up
- Mid Surface extraction, Shell property, and Quality assigning
- Meshing and assigning thickness to it
Before processing

Property and thickness assigning
Property and thickness of the parts are assigned using set PID option.

After Processing

Learning Outcome
- Bottle cap model has been Checked for geomentry and errors.
- Property and thickness assignment to the parts of the bottle cap.
- Meshing the model with the required quality criteria.
- Failure of elements [Off 41] 41 elements failure has helped to learn the type of failure, reason for failure and improvements required for the failure elements.
Conclusion
The Plastic Bottle Cap model has been checked for geometrical errors, extracted themid surface. PID and Thickness assignment has to be done for all the mid surfaces. Meshed the with given element Quality criteria.
