Week - 4
1) Aim: To implement the control logic of Automatic washing machine.
Requirements:
slno Blocks Quantity Purpose
1 Lamps 6nos To indicate the state of washing process
2 Display 6nos To visualize the change from one state to other
3 Constant 2nos To implement the condition of water and power
4 Chart 1nos To implement the logic
5 States 7nos Machine ON,Machine OFF, Soaking, Washing, Rinsing, Drying, Washing complete
Explanation:
The first part to begin with is the implementation of the condition of Water and Power. To implement this, the constants blocks are used where the Machine will enter ON state if both water and power exists. In case if power is not available or vice versa, the machine will go to OFF state.
Till the machine completes washing, the water condition should be TRUE (i.e the water should be available).
After washing state, the water is no more required hence for proceeding to the next state, the water condition can be removed but the power condition shall remain.
As the states change, the lamps will turn green indicating that the state is completed.
Once all the states are completed, all the lamps will be in green color.
Note: Run the below model and see the output.
2) Aim: To implement Gear shift logic
Requirements:
slno Block Quantity Purpose
1 Slider gain 01nos In order to give input during the simulation.
2 Constant 01nos Input to slider gain
3 Scope 01nos To visualize the gear change
4 States 05nos For 5 gears
Explanation:
The change of state (i.e gear change 1st,second ...)is dependent on the speed, therefore the speed will be set as input to the chart
The output is the gear, therefore the gear is set as output
Observe the model, you can see that all the states are linked to each other whit the conditions as specified in the question.
The FIFTH state is linked to all the states so that at any given speed the state changes as per the constraints
Note: Run the model below and change the value of slider gain and observe the gear change in the scope.
