Week 4.2: Project - Transient simulation of flow over a throttle body
Aim --> Transient simulation of flow over a throttle body with Converge CFD.
Objectives -->
- Post-process the results and show pressure and velocity contours.
- Show the mesh.
- Show the plots for pressure, velocity, mass flow rate and total cell count.
- Create animations for throttle movement.
Geometry -->

Case Setup -->
- Case setup tree -->

- Application type --> Time-based
- Material --> Air
- Gas simulation parameters

- Simulation Parameters (Run and solver parameters)

- angle.in file

- Simulation time parameters (End time = 0.1 seconds)

- Boundary (Pressure Inlet Outlet boundary condition)

- Base mesh and fixed embedding

- Regions and Initialization

- Turbulence model --> RNG K-e model

- Output files

Results
- Mesh

Mesh-Motion Animation (Throttle body rotation motion)
--> We can see that after 0.002 seconds Mesh(Total_cells) remains constant.

- Mass-flow rate plots at inlet and outlet

- Velocity plots/contours

Velocity plots

Velocity Animation

- Pressure plots/contours

Pressure Animation
- Turbulent Kinetic Energy and Epsilon(dissipation rate)

- Temperature and Density

Conclusion
- Transient simulation on throttle valve has been successfully run for 0.1 seconds.
- flow variables have converged in the plots.
- Flow separation, recirculation and wake region near throttle body is shown in the contour plots.
