Challenge

Week 4-1D Element Creation Challenge

Aim: Using Hypermesh, produce 1D components on the specified component with the specified cross-section and DOF.

PROCEDURE:

1. Bringing in the geometry. Delete the wireframe and then import the geometry into the workspace.

2. Creating the mid surface for the specified component.

  • Step 1: Choose the component and make it the current selection to produce a mid surface for the top component (bracket 1).
  • Step 2: Choose the component and change its existing selection to create a mid surface for the bottom component (bracket 2).

3. Integrating the component

  • Step 1: In order to mesh the provided component, washer breaks must be made close to the hole location. The 5mm washer split offset that we chose.
  • Step 2: Create a mesh with elements of varied types and a 5mm element size.

4. Produce Content
We decide to use steel for this component's material.

5. T he properties' creation
Assigning the Card ID and material, we produced the attributes for the corresponding component as well as establishing rod, beam bar, and mass properties.

6. Construct the 1D Elements.
We must use the hyper beam tool, choose the appropriate cross-section for constructing the 1D element, and assign the geometry the specified dimension in order to produce the 1D element.

7. The stiff at points a, b, c, and d
Using the provided DOF, create the RBE2 and RBE3 at the corresponding holes.

8. Build the stiff 1D element.

  • Step 1:-At the corresponding node positions, create the rod, bar, and beam 1D components.
  • Step 2:-About their property, update the 1D element.
  • Step 3:-Spring between two brackets and create the mass at node d.

Conclusion

Created a mesh based on the extracted mid-surface for the specified component. A relevant 1D element (RBE2, RBE3, ROD, BAR, BEAM, MASS, SPRING, etc.) was deployed to the appropriate locations. Assigning the 1D components a cross-section and a property solid illustrations of 1D elements were produced.
