Week 4-1D Element Creation Challenge

Objective: To mesh given components and connect using 1D elements.

Procedure:

1. First we extract the mid surface for the given plate since the plates are symmetrical about both the x-y plane and z-x plane, we just need to mesh 1 fourth of the cad.

2. After mesh we reflect accordingly to appropriately get the mesh.

3. Then hyper beams are created with a given cross-section.

4. Then we create material steel and assign values to it.

5. Then we create properties collector for different hyper beam sections and assign material and cross-sections carefully.

6. Then we create rigid, bar, beam, and rod elements for connection. We assign properties to 1Ds and carefully untick DOFs as required.

7. Then we assign mass to the outer RBE2 link of 10 units and also connect that adjacent plate by spring elements.
