Challenge

Week 3 Challenge : CFD meshing on Turbocharger

AIM:-

For the given model, check for the geometrical errors to make appropriate volumes. Create and assign PIDs as shown in the video. Perform surface mesh with the given target lengths as per PIDs.

  1. Blade stage-1 = 1 mm
  2. Blade stage-2 = 1 mm
  3. Impeller = 2 mm
  4. Shaft rotor = 1 mm
  5. Turbo casing = 5 mm
  6. Compressor casing = 5 mm
  7. Inlet casing cover = 5 mm

OBJECTIVE:-

Perform Volumetric mesh for the required volumes as Well as classical mesh of each component.

PROCEDURE:-

1. First import the geometry.

2. we have to creating the surface of upper part with the help of project option and new option

3. we have to use the parametric option and create the nodes and use the new option and cover the total lower part.

4. we have to triple cons convert in to double coons.

5, after thet we have to give the classial mesh of each and every component.

6. we have to use the perimeter option for the given mesh.

7. after give the classical mesh , we have to deleted the some unwanted components.

8. volumetric mesh we have to give the only solid components.

CASE:-1 GEOMETRY SET -UP:-

CLASSICAL MESH:-

3. VOLUMETRIC MESH:- Volumetric mesh is the 3d mesh.

Conclusion:-

1. Classical mesh is the surface meshing of each and every component. in classical mesh quads are 302684 and trias 102436 so total is 485120.

2. volumetric mesh is the 3d mesh. it is only give solid bodies so trais 5797146 and paramids are 300611 so total is 6097757.

3. volumetric is the tahe the large time of to solid bodies.
