Q.1 FOR EV_DEFAULTS_IN FILE

with defaults condition following observations are made

Cargo default =136 kg

for FTP drive cycle

no of cycles =4

gasoline equivalent =2.1

distance covered =48.2 km

but for cargo mass =500 kg.

for same cycles 4 and FTP drive cycle

Results obtained are

gasoline equivalent =2.5

Total distance covered =41.4 km

Conclusion - the vehicle can not travel 45 km with having 500 kg cargo mass with default 25 battery pack modules .

Q.2

IN question 2 for repeating the simulation for different values of battery packs following observations are made

Conculsion and observation - We can observe from here that as battery pack is incrasing so weight of battery pack is also increasing but due to enhancement in the battery capacity one can travel more distance .So distance is increasing in changing battery modules.

Q.3 ON performing gradeability in prius_japan_defaults_in

Different cycles like FTP & UDDS are considered

1. No grade included

distance covered =53.3 km with gasoline equivalent =5.2

speed at 88.5 kmph

2.at 0.5% grade in ftp cycle

gradablity observed at 88.5kmph.

3. at 0.8% gradability in FTP drive cycle

gradability observed at 88.5 kmph

4. at 1% gradability observed at 88.5 kmph

5.At 2% no grad was observed at 88.5 kmph.

6. For UDDS cycle at gradabilty at 3% distance covered =36 km but in output it is not observed .

OBSERVATION AND CONCLUSION

1.Till 1% in FTP drive cycle gradability was observed .

2.Above 1% onwards IN FTP drive cycle grad was not observed .

3. For different drive cycle like UDDS

gradability not 1%.
