Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1. For EV_Default_in file, if the cargo mass is 500kg with all other default conditions, can vehicle travel for 45km with FTP drive cycle

Default EV file: -

Default it run for 48.2 km distance in 3 FTP cycle , with all other parameters set to default.

Now increasing cargo mass to 500,

It stops at 41.4 km, it cannot complete 45 km with this battery module with this much of weight.

2. Now, Changing Battery capacity, increasing Battery module 25 to 30,

Now with increasing in Battery module 25 to 30 complete distance of 45 km.

Gradeability test at 88.5 km/h: - 8.8 %

3. Perform Gradeability test

Prius is a Hybrid EV so there is IC engine also, and EV module of 40.

Prius is using 5.2 L Gasoline also it completes 53.3 km distance with 3 FTP cycle.

Gradeability test at 88.5 km/h: - 1.70 %

Comparing all result in excel sheet,

So, from this result we can conclude that default EV file can complete 45km distance with all parameters to default, but if we increase cargo weight to 500 kg it can’t complete 45km, so increasing in battery module help to complete 45km distance.

In PRIUS there were IC engine Because It’s Hybrid Electric Vehicle also there for EV module can’t exceed, so PRIUS hit 53.3 km distance with 3 FTP Drive Cycle.
