1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

SOLUTION:

select EV_defaults_in load file and change the cargo mass to 500kg by keeping all other parameter to default click continue

in driver cycle select CYC_FTP and click run:

CONCLUSION: We can see that distance travelled is 17.8km only and a vehicle cannot travel 45km in single cycle.No vehicle cannot travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle because increase of cargo mass to 500 kg the vehicle can only travel up to 17.8 km in 1 cycle even if we increase the no of cycle upto 3 and beyond 3 the distance reached is only 41.4km

2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

SOLUTION:

changing energy storage capacity 'ESS_PB25' %of mod to 40 and keepig all parameters same as previous case i.e.cargo mass =500kg and load file as EV_default.in and click continue

CONCLUSION:From the above result we can see that distance 53.3 km is travelled in single charge of vehicle with this configuration.

3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file

Compare your results in table and conclude.

SOLUTION:select PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in load file and keeping all other parameter to default click continue

Now, check the gradeability box and select the required speed from grade option box keep speed=55mps

for speed=55mps gradeability is 1.7%

for speed=35mps gradeability is 2.4%

for speed=60 mps gradeability is 1.5%

CONCLUSION: From this table we can conclude that as speed increases gradeability decreases
