Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

First Download ADVISOR tool using the link:https://sourceforge.net/projects/adv-vehicle-sim/
After that we want unzip the file
Now open the matlab and choose the folder path of unziped file in current folder window
We want to type ADVISOR in command window

After that GUI will Open in load file we want to select EV_defaults_in file and change cargo mass into 500kg

Then select continue and choose the CYC_EUDC for drive cycle and keep the all parameters as default

Now Click the run button the See the obtained result Below

The total Distance covred by vehicle is 6.92018 KM

2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation

In this model we are going to change battery type to Nickel Metal Hydride and the maximum power of the battery is 65kw and nominal voltage is 436 V

Now click the continue and select CYC_EUDC for Drive cycle and keep all the parameters as default

Now press the run button and result will shown below

the total distance covred by vehicle after changing the battery type to Nickel Metal Hydride and the maximum power of the battery is 65kw and nominal voltage is 436 V is 20.9215 km

3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file
