Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

Q1.

Load the advisor tool from the mathlab command window select metric system and load EV_default in file and change cargo mass is 500 ,and remains all other condition same and continue .

We need to use FTP based cycle select the following and run it

run the EV model withe drive cycle 1

As we need total distance covered to be 45Km but this drive cycle can complete only 17.77.so we need more than 1drive cycle to complete more than 45km so we can use 3 drive cycle .

We can see a warning sign pop up which means that the distance is more than the range of the current battery so the vehicle can not travel 45km but short by 3.2km

Q2

in the abowe case try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation

The current battery capacity at 25 we need to increase the battery pack capacity so that the vehicle can run more than 45km

So for this we will increase the battery capacity from25 to 43

By increasing the battery we can see that range has been increased to 53.3km which is more than the required range we need.

Select ‘Prius_JPN’ in file from the load file option to load the Prius mode

select grade test option and chose all sysrem enabled option continue with varing the speed from 5mph to 40mph for analysing gradeability

In the above table we can see the gradeability decreases with increases in speed. the maximum gradeability during 5mph and lowest during 40miles/h
