Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

Solution:

open matlab and type the "advisor"in command window to start advisor tool.

in load file tab, select Ev_defaults_in file and change the cargo mass to 500kg and select continue tab..

Figure 2 --> select drive cycle

select FTB in drive cycle tab and click on run tab.

1.1 figure 3 --> distance travlled by vehicle after 1st drive cycle

from the above, it is found that vehicle runs a distance of 11 miles (17.69kmph) with 40% battery power consumption.

1.2 figure 4 --> distance travlled by vehicle after 2nd drive cycle

from the above, it is found that vehicle runs a distance of 22 miles (35.39kmph) with 70% battery power consumption.

 1.3 figure 5 --> distance travlled by vehicle after 3rd drive cycle

from the above, it is found that vehicle runs a distance of 25.7 miles (41.35kmph) with 100% battery power consumption.

vehicle can travel a distance 17.69 km after 1st FTP drive cycle, maximum distance travled by vehicle in single charge is 41.35km.

henceforth, vehicle can not run travel 45km in single charge.

solution :

2.1 --> change no of batery module = 26 with battery voltage = 321v

figue 1 --> with no of batery module = 26 vehicle can travel distance of 26.5 miles (42.63km)

2.2 --> change no of batery module = 28 with battery voltage = 345v

figue 2 --> with no of batery module = 28 vehicle can travel distance of 28.8 miles (46.33km)

henceforth, it is known as 28 battery module are required to travel distance of 45km.

Solution :

in load file tab, select PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file and select continue tab.

To perform gradeablity  test in ADVISOR, set duration = 10 s and keep change the speed of vehicle. (as marked in figure)

Figure 2 --> change the speed of vehicle

3.1 --> Test 1 -->  at 10 mph (16 kmph), gradeablity = 23.1%

3.2 --> Test 1 -->  at 15 mph (24 kmph), gradeablity = 25.5%

In the above tests, performed on vehicle with speed range and gradeablity has tabluted below.
