Open the Advisor tool in the matlab and select the EV_default_in

Vary the mass as 500kg and click on the continue button.

Change the driving cycle as CYC_FTP and click on the RUN.

For the drivecycle choose as 1.

The maximum distance covered is 11 miles (17.7028kmph).

For the drive cycle of 2, the distance covered is 22 miles (35.406).

For the drive cycle of 10, the maximum distance covered is 25.7 miles (41.306 kmph)

CONCLUSION:

The vehicle with cargo mass of 500kg cannot cross the distance of 45km with FTP as drivecycle.

2. CHANGING THE BATTERY CAPACITY:

Choose the Energy storage value as 50 and the voltage value increases to 617V.

The drive Cycle is changed to 5 and observe the results.

The distance travelled by changing the battery capacity is 48.6 miles (77.3 kmph).

CONCLUSION:

Thus by changing the battery capacity the vehicle can drive 45km.

3. GRADEABILITY TEST WITH PRIUS

Open the advisor and choose the PRIUS_JPN_defaults_in.

Choose the drive cycle as CYC_UDDS.

The speed is maintained at 30 mph for the duration of 20s.

The gradeability is 2.5%.

By changing the speed to 50 miles the gradeability decreases to 2%.

By changing the speed to 60 miles, the gradeability decreases to 1.5%.

By changing the speed to 70 miles, the gradeability still decreases to 1%.

By varying the speed to 80 miles, the gradeability decreases to 0.3%.

CONCLUSION:

Increasing the speed decreases the gradeability.

The duration has no impact on the gradeability.
