Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1. From the results in the ADVISOR tool -
For EV_defaults_in file & a cargo mass of 500 kg with all other conditions kept as default, the vehicle will not travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle.
For FTP drive cycle with 1 cycle, It will cover only 17.7 kms & at the end of drive cycle the battery SOC is 60% ,The simulation runs for 1400 sec approximately.
or FTP drive cycle with 5 cycles, It will cover only 41.36 kms & at the end of drive cycle the battery SOC is 0%.The battery is empty,The simulation runs for 4700 sec approximately.
Also FTP drive cycle with 10 cycles is tested , the Maximum range that the vehicle will cover is only 41.36kms with final state of battery drained out. The vehicle falls short of 3.6kms
Since it is a pure EV there are no emissions.

2. Repeating the same simulation above , by changing the battery capacity & we will observe the results-
With same cargo mass of 500kg for FTP drive cycle & keeping the same battery ESS_PB25, we will increase the no. of battery modules from 25 to 28.The distance covered in 1 FTP cycle is 17.8kms with Battery soc at the end of simulation being 65%.The simulation runs for 2500sec for 5 FTP cycles & for 5 FTP cycles the distance covered is 46.3 kms with Battery soc at the end of simulation being 0%(drained out). The simulation runs for 6000sec for 5 FTP cycles .
By increasing the no. of battery modules to 28 & battery voltage to 345V we have increased the battery capacity thus increasing the range of the vehicle.Similarly on reducing the no. of battery modules will reduce the vehicle range.

3.For gradeabiltiy test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file we will increase vehicle speed from 5mph to 50mph in steps of 10mph & study the gradeability of the vehicle:
| Speed(mph) | Speed(kmph) | Gradeabiltity |
| 5 | 8 | 32.80% |
| 10 | 16 | 30.30% |
| 15 | 24.1 | 24.40% |
| 20 | 32.1 | 19.80% |
| 25 | 40.2 | 16.50% |
| 30 | 48.2 | 14.70% |
| 35 | 56.3 | 13.00% |
| 40 | 64.3 | 11.70% |
| 45 | 72.4 | 10.70% |
| 50 | 80.4 | 9.70% |
For 5mph(8kmph) the gradeabilty is calculated as:

For 50mph(80kmph) the gradeabilty is calculated as:

Similary for different vehicle speeds between 5mph & 50mph the gradeability is calculated from ADVISOR tool & documented above.
As observed from the results the gradeabiltiy of vehicle decreases with increasing speed.
