Challenge

Week 2 Challenge : Surface meshing on a Pressure valve

Aim:

or the given model, check for the geometrical errors and perform Topology cleanup accordingly. Set three different target lengths as three different cases and mesh the model.

  • Target length = 1mm, 3 mm and 5 mm (i.e. 3 cases)
  • Element type = Tria

Procedure:

  1. Import .ansa file by action File→Open→Ok.
  2. Prepare model for meshing by geometric cleanup.

3.Have a look of what to do in model.

4.Select geometry checks from checks option.

5.After hitting Execute error shows by ansa from model which how many single cons, double cons .etc

6.Make sure every model having does not having any opened cones (single cons).

7.Patch or filled every surface by Faces→New→Fitted→loop→ok.

8.Filled every single cone by patch the surface or filled surface.

9.Ensure every single cone has been removed in geometry clean-up.

10.There is only one triple cone which is acceptable.

11.Now set PID for whole model part by part

12.Delete cone which may cause for failure of mesh elements when we give perimeter and macros.

13.Inlet, outlet, body, column, base surface, spring, valve body.

14.Set PID for above components .

15.Give perimeter and macros 1mm also gives mesh perimeter and quality criteria 1mm.

16.Deploy spot mesh all over the components.

17.By switching shadow mode to hidde.mode and check Quality criteria which is acceptable or not.

18.after 1mm set 3mm and 5mm mesh parameter and quality criteria . we get following result.

for 3mm mesh length

for 5mm mesh length

Conclusion: from this challange we observe 1mm mesh length having more number of total element and having fine profile .And 3mm ,5mm having less number of total elements then 1mm mesh length.

on smaller parts with 5mm mesh length having less acuratre surface profile.and off elements having large number .on smaller surface elements gets failed.

what I learn from this challange.

1.import of model

2.patch the surface

3.assign PID for diffrent region

4.set mesh parameter

5.set quality criteria

6.deploy mesh

7.various isolating options

8.hidde options

9.topo clean-up

10.surfacemesh
