Aim

Surface meshing on a pressure valve.

Introduction

A pressure control valve can protect a system from the damages which is caused by excessive pressure. These valves can do the pressure control of a system an example for this is, using a line relief valve to limit the maximum allowable system pressure. These valves can be seen in hydraulic systems and they can protect the hydraulic system. In order to achieve the pressure control, pressure relief, and pressure regulation must be done. The pressure is developed in a valve, because of the restriction of the fluid flow. If the pressure in a system is not checked it could cause many damages to the system and this can cause a waste of time and money.

The use of pressure control valve is :-

• It can limit the maximum pressure
• Backpressure can be set
• hese valves would send a signal if the set pressure is reached
• It can protect the pump or system from overpressure
• It can unload a pump
• These valves can set pressure at which oil enters a circuit

The functions of pressure control valve are ;-

• Pressure reduction
• Load holding
• Sequential control
• Limits system pressure
• Controls the pressure in the selected section of the circuit
• Sequence motion
• Actuator sequence control
• Restrained movement control
• Reduced pressure control
• Pump unloading control

Procedure

1. Copy the file into ANSA software as it is.

2. The sides were fixed and errors were rectified .

3.The components were given specific PID's.

Meshing

Case 1 = 1mm

Case 2 = 3mm

Case 3 = 5mm

Result & Conclusion

The surface meshing of the pressure valve was done in 3 cases (1mm,3mm,5mm). The necessary PID's were assigned to the components. The photos of the corresponding cases and PID's are shown above.

From the above pictures we can conclude that case 1 of 1mm target length has very little disturbances in geometry.So, it is the best suited value to go with but, it takes a lot of time to calculate and reach the result.The case 3 of 5mm target length is not suited as the image here is completely distorted.
