Objectives:
1)Write a few words on what a grid dependency test is and its use.
2)Perform a grid dependency test for the Bevel gear simulation for mesh sizes of 6,5 and mm
3) Solve for Von-Mises stress, Equivalent elastic strain and Total Deformation using the previously mentioned mesh sizes.
4) Present your findings in an organized manner
Definition & Theory:
To perform numerical analysis, the CFD model space or the element subjected to FEA is presented as a set of finite number of grids. In this process finding the optimal grid condition remains an objective for accurate results. Hence the grid dependency test is the process used to find this optimal grid condition, It is about beginning the analysis with coarse mesh and refining it at each run until the results remain the same.
Analysis Setting:

Setting for the big gear subjected to moment:

Setting for the small gear subjected to a rotation:

Conclusion:
By comparing the results from the summary table, it is clear that when the mesh size decreases, the value got from the analysis keeps increasing and get more accurate. So we are getting the optimal grid condition. Hence we have performed grid dependency test.
