1.Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block with the following details:

In the above arrangement, when the switch is closed the electromagnet receives electrical power from the battery and pulls the metal arm to hit the bell producing sound.

Create a situation where the switch is closed for 2 seconds and then released. Observe the physical movement of the plunger.

Answer:

Aim:To Make a Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block.

Model:

Report:

1.The Battery positive sign is connected to switch as shown in figure.

2.The switch another end is connected to positive of the solenoid and negative end is connected to battery negative sign.

3.The pulse generator is connected to simulink-ps converter as shown in figure.

4.The another end of converter is connected to ps line of switch, and added a electrical reference.

5.The solenoid (R) is connected to input of the ideal translational motion sensor (R).

6.The translational motion sensor (c) is commonly connected to solenoid (c) with adding a solver configuration and mechanical translational reference as shown in figure.

7.The output of the ideal translational motion sensor is connected to ps-simulink converter.

8.Ps-simulink converter another end is connected to scope, to observe the physical movement of the plunger.

Output:

Report:

1.I have observed that at starting stage the bell producing sound with a large oscilating wave.

2.After completion of (2) sec of time , the oscilation of a bell sound is slightly reducing.

3.The plunger of a solenoid movement vibrations is slightly decreasing.

Result:

Simulink model of Doorbell using solenoid block is completed and Observed the physical movement of the plunger.

2.Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan as per the below conditions:

Temperature source: 20 °C from 0 to 10 seconds, 27 °C from 10 to 30 seconds, 23 °C from 30 to 50 seconds

Fan conditions: ON if the temperature above 25 °C, OFF otherwise

Answer:

Aim: To Use a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan.

Model:

Output:

Report:

1.From the output value of the scope is 0.012 as a consider the fan must be turn on condition.

2.when the output value is setteld on 0 then the fan condition is must be in turn off state.

3.By the temperature conditions, when temperature reaches to below 25C then the fan must be in off state.

4.When the temperature reaches to above 25C then the fan must be turn on state.

5.The thermistor is a device which can sense the temperature value , and it will act as a relay of the circuit.

Result:

By Using a thermistor to sense the temperature of a heater & turn on or turn off the fan conditions is applied and got the output.
