Week 14 challenge

Butterfly Valve Assembly

Aim:

To assemble the Butterfly Valve Assembly in existing component using NX Cad

Procedure:

Step 1:

First select and open the Butterfly valve parts of this assembly

Parts of the assembly

  1. Body
  2. Shaft
  3. Retainer
  4. Disc
  5. Lever
  6. Nut

Step 2:

Open every part file into this assembly file in NX-Cad and using create a Butterfly Assembly body model.

Give constraint to the each and every part.

Step 3:

First give constrain to the body and retainer plate.

Constrain Used: Align and Touch.

Step 4:

Now give the constrain to shaft and disc plate.

Constrain Used: Align and Touch

Step 5:

Make a constrain with Shaft and Retainer

Step 6:

Constrain of Lever & Shaft is given

Constrain Used: Touch & Align

Step 7:

Part of Nut & Shaft constrain given

Constrain Used: Align

Step 8:

Finally give constrain to the lever bottom face and Body of the valve.

Constrain Used: Touch

Step 9:

Create a drafting sheet of the dimensions A0 size. And bring the necessary view in that sheet with the scale range of 1:2

Step 10:

Create a Datum Target Area of the Butterfly valve with the size of 60 dia.

Step 11:

Flatness of 0.25mm given to the 3 datum target areas and make it as single datum area name it as "A"

Step 12:

Create a FCF of one of the hole of the body.

Perpendicularity of 0.20mm Maximum material condition, with the reference of "A" Datum. Name it as "B" Datum

Step 13:

Create a FCF of one of the hole of the body.

Position of 0.20mm Maximum material condition, with the reference of "A" & "B" Datum. Name it as "C" Datum

Step 14:

Perpendicularity of 0.20mm Maximum material condition, with the reference of "A", "B" & "C" Datum. Name it as "D" Datum. This is mentioned as reference datum.

Step 15:

Create a FCF of one of the hole of the body.

Step 16:

Control the width of the body using profile tolerance of 0.25mm.

Step 17:

Give Position tolerance of the opposite side of the body with the reference of B, C & D datum respectively.

Step 18:

Finally create the assembly of the butterfly valve and GD&T sheet.
