Assembly of the butterfly valve and GD&T application.

Software Used: Siemens NX

Assembly of the Components:

1. To assemble all the parts first copy and paste all the parts into the same folder.
2. Open NX and create a new assembly, and import all the parts there.
3. Now use the constrain 'fix' to constrain the Main body of the Valve.
4. Start constraining and moving other parts as required and bring them all together.

Applying GD&T:

1. Go to the Drafting workbench, and select a suitable sheet size (A0 in this case).
2. Using the datum targets call out 60 dia area around the holes as A1, A2, & A3.
3. Give a perpendicularity tolerance of 0.5 to hole 1, and call out it as datum B.
4. Give a position tolerance to the second hole and call it out as datum C.
5. Call out the third hole as datum D.
6. Now, with this, the components are technically constrained to its 6 DOF.
7. Also, provide a profile tolerance of 0.5 to the opposite side of the datum A with respect to datum A
8. To control the dimensions of holes on the opposite surface using a position tolerance of 0.75 with respect to respective datums.
