Challenge

Week 12:Project 2-Meshing of Rear Wheel Holder challenge

Aim

To Mesh the Rear Wheel Holder as per the quality criteria given.

Procedure

Step 1

Imported the geometry, checked thickness of the component and tried to understand the type of the and which type mid surface extraction method should appy, then checked the quality of the geometry putting in wireframe geometry. found that many red lines (single cons) occurred in the geometry. using quick edit and surface panel the geometry clean up is done.

Step 2

To extract the mid surface from the given geometry cross checked the thickness of the component in different regions and 0.75 mm thickness. Decided to extract the mid surface by using the auto mid surface option by offset method. further assigned the property and material for the component. further cross checked the auto mid surface has captured the model properly? Some of the surface was missing. manually did the corrections on the mid surface. As per the given hind the small feature has been defeatured.

Step 3

Started to mesh the component from the end with the features. I used these tools frequently to automesh, rebuild, reflect, quality index, smooth, replace, edit element, etc. Some of some features were reflected to reduce the time then checked the edges qualence simultaneously. After finishing the mesh using check elements, quality and duplicate elements checked out further cross checked the edge.

Result

The mid suffice the component extracted from the geometry and meshed with the proper mesh flow and contained the quality criteria as per given, even the tria condition has compromised some minimum length region.

Conclusion

In this project I got a got understanding and very good experience to work on a very well complex feature capturing model with the quality criteria and with a good mesh flow with the tria conditions.
