Door Trim Panel

Problem Statement:

1. Create a closed body of the door trim panel using the Class A surface provided along with the master section.

2. Create a push pin with the dog house for the lower substrate.

3. Use Heat Stakes for the part to the part attachment.

Introduction:

The door trim Panel is the interior plastic component attached to the sheet metal part of the door. It is designed differently based on the design of the sheet metal part of the door. Besides its aesthetic look, it also has many functional features attached to it such as an armrest, bottle holder, speaker attachment, etc.

Given A surface:

B surface:

It is offset from Class A for a distance of 2.5mm according to the given master section.

C surface along with A surface:

Class C surface is swept along the tooling direction with a nominal 3 degrees with tooling direction.

Closed surface:

The closed surface is created using the trim command between Class A, Class B, and Class C surfaces.

B Surface:

Class B is created with an offset of 2.5mm from the Class A surface.

Conclusion:

1. Closed surface is created with the given Class-A surface and following the given master section.

2. Closed body is created along with the engineering features.

3. Draft analysis is performed to check the surfaces of the model which does not clear the minimum draft angle.
