Week 11 - Final project
FINAL PROJECT REPORT
In this we are provided with class A surface of a side door assembly in which there are 4 parts named as Bottle holder, Map pocket, Armrest and Lower substrate these all parts are separately made into solid parts are assembly features like flanges , locators, heatstakes and doghouse are constructed on top of each parts and they are assembled in the product workbench,
ARMREST

Armrest is created by offsetting the class A surface by 2.5mm and the offsetted surface(class B) is worked upon to clear all the patches and class C surface is constructed with respect to class A using sweep function and later the class B is extrapolated as required to intersect the class C and then the body is trimmed together to get a final part, it is then converted into a part by using close surface function and then the flanges are constructed in the required area aby creating a point on the edge and creating a plane with respect to that point and a sketch of flange is drafted , extrapolated and converted into a thickened part then required fillet is given and the flange body is union trimmed onto the main body keeping the required surfaces.
DRAFT ANALYSIS OF ARMREST

Draft analysis is used for checking if the component have enough draft angle that if it can be carried out through the manufacturing process, here the draft analysis option is applied and the axis is kept coinciding the main tooling axis and then the part is clicked to receive a change in color according to the colorcode given here the area in green is having 3 degree hence it is having a optimal draft angle and is perfect for manufacturing.
BOTTLE HOLDER

Bottle holder is created by offsetting the class A surface by 2.5mm and the offsetted surface(class B) is worked upon to clear all the patches and class C surface is constructed with respect to class A using sweep function and later the class B is extrapolated as required to intersect the class C and then the body is trimmed together to get a final part, it is then converted into a part by using close surface function and then the flanges are constructed in the required area aby creating a point on the edge and creating a plane with respect to that point and a sketch of flange is drafted , extrapolated and converted into a thickened part then required fillet is given and the flange body is union trimmed onto the main body keeping the required surfaces.

MAP POCKET

Map pocket is created by offsetting the class A surface by 2.5mm and the offsetted surface(class B) is worked upon to clear all the patches and class C surface is constructed with respect to class A using sweep function and later the class B is extrapolated as required to intersect the class C and then the body is trimmed together to get a final part, it is then converted into a part by using close surface function and then the flanges are constructed in the required area aby creating a point on the edge and creating a plane with respect to that point and a sketch of flange is drafted , extrapolated and converted into a thickened part then required fillet is given and the flange body is union trimmed onto the main body keeping the required surfaces.
DRAFT ANALYSIS OF MAP POCKET

Draft analysis is used for checking if the component have enough draft angle that if it can be carried out through the manufacturing process, here the draft analysis option is applied and the axis is kept coinciding the main tooling axis and then the part is clicked to receive a change in color according to the colorcode given here the area in green is having 3 degree hence it is having a optimal draft angle and is perfect for manufacturing.
LOWER SUBSTRATE

Lower substrate is created by offsetting the class A surface by 2.5mm and the offsetted surface(class B) is worked upon to clear all the patches and class C surface is constructed with respect to class A using sweep function and later the class B is extrapolated as required to intersect the class C and then the body is trimmed together to get a final part, it is then converted into a part by using close surface function and then heatstakes, locators and doghouse are constructed in the required area aby creating a point on the surface and creating a plane with respect to that point and a sketch is drafted , extrapolated and converted into a thickened part, then required fillet is given and the body is union trimmed onto the main body keeping the required surfaces.
DRAFT ANALYSIS OF LOWER SUBSTRATE

Draft analysis is used for checking if the component have enough draft angle that if it can be carried out through the manufacturing process, here the draft analysis option is applied and the axis is kept coinciding the main tooling axis and then the part is clicked to receive a change in color according to the colorcode given here the area in green is having 3 degree hence it is having a optimal draft angle and is perfect for manufacturing.
DOG HOUSE CREATION

Dog house are components used to provide a support to the assembly features like screw boss, pushpin etc. It is created by extracting a surface on the body and creating a point and plane on that, after that a sketch of rectangle is extruded and made into part and to get the inside features it is shelled to required thickness and sketch is given for inside ribs and required draft angle of 5degree is given with respect to the side core axis and also a pushpin hole is extruded and removed and after a this the part is union trimmed to the main body.
DRAFT ANALYSIS OF DOG HOUSE WITH RESPECT TO THE MAIN TOOLING AXIS

Draft analysis is used for checking if the component have enough draft angle that if it can be carried out through the manufacturing process, here the draft analysis option is applied and the axis is kept coinciding the main tooling axis and then the part is clicked to receive a change in color according to the colorcode given here the area in green is having 3 degree hence it is having a optimal draft angle and is perfect for manufacturing.
DRAFT ANALYSIS OF DOG HOUSE WITH RESPECT TO THE SIDE CORE AXIS

Here draft angle of 0.5 degree is given to the interior hence its shown in green color and it depicts that it is perfect for manufacturing.
ASSEMBLY OF THE COMPONENTS

Product workbench is used to assemble all the components, the lower substrate is fixed using the fix constraint and the flanges and heatstakes are coincide using the coincide constraint and the push pin is connected with the dog house using coincide and contact constraint to get a proper assembly.
