Week 11 - Final project
FINAL REPORT OF DOOR TRIM PANEL CREATION :
OBJECTIVE:
This project is to make half of the door trim panel in catia from the provided classA surface of the same.
ABSTRACT:
This report contains a brief theory on design rules and the approach followed to achieve the final plastic product.Draft analysis report on the Class A surface apart from the procedure to make the class B and class c surface.
APPROACH:
Basic approach to make a plastic model from class A surface should be:
- Running draft analysis
- making tooling axis
- Making B surface
- Mkaing C surface
- Trimming all together and making it to solid.
CLASS A SURFACE:
IN this project by given class A surface which is to design a class B by taking offset of the same class A surface.
TOOLING AXIS:
TOOLING AXIS is the axis along which the core and cavity opens and closes.it is very important to define the tooling axis in the first step while designing a component as is is main component which helps us to run draft analysis on class A.
DRAFT ANALYSIS:
First step to start the model should always be to check is the surface has enough draft that it will not create any problems while ejecting from the mold.
DESIGNING B SIDE FEATURES:
DOG HOUSE 6MM HEIGHT 3:1 RATIO WIDTH TO HEIGHT 1.5 DEG DRAFT OPTIMAL RADIUS 25MM.
HEAT STAKES
FLANGES
RIBS 0.5 DEG DRAFT 5 TIMES THE WALL THICKNESS FOR HEIGHT 0.75, 0.25 MM RADIUS.
SCREWBOSS 5 DEG DRAFT 40% WALL THICKNESS 2.5MM 0.25MM FILLET RADIUS.

CONCLUSION:
DEVELOPMENT OF DOOR TRIM CREATION PANEL MODEL HAS BEEN CREATED AND WITH THE ALL REQUIREMENTS AND WITH DRAFT ANALYSIS WITH EACH PART SNAPSHOTS MENTIONED ABOVE AND BOTH CAT PART AND CAT PRODUCT IN ONE RAR FOLDER HAS ATTACTHED BELOW.
