Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design
DRAFT ANALYSIS REPORT FOR COIN HOLDER MODEL:
Class A surafce:
- The process to be followed for creating closed body from the given class A
- And then creating a tooling axis for the draft analysis for the given A
Class B surface:
- Extracting the class A surface
- untrim
- Extrapolating the Surface
- Then offset as 2.5 mm
- Then trim
- Apply the fillets where ever neccessary.
Class C surface:
- Creating the boundaries
- Then sweeping along the draft direction
- and Join/trim the C surface together
Final trim:
- Trimming Class A & class C surfaces
- Then trimming with B surface to get a close surface
- To check closed surface do the Boundary operation
In the part design to make the close surface / solid body with the closed surface operation.
Checking Draft analysis:
- The view in the colours Green should be above 3 degrees.
- Red colour should be below 0 degrees
- Blue colour should be in 0 degrees
Procedure:
- To Check the connectivity of class A surface using boundary option.
Tooling axis:
tooling axis is defined as the direction in which the mold or core and cavity opens is the tooling axis.
Creating a point for the reference.
Using point as a reference create a line normal to the surface.
Draft Analysis -
Draft Analysis command enables to detect if the part drafted will be easily removed.
