Week 11 Car Crash simulation
AIM:
For this challenge, you will have to perform a parametric study using 3 different values of thickness for the car body. You need to apply the same conditions as mentioned in the video that corresponds to this challenge.Analyse the total deformation and Equivalent stresses acting on the model.
PROCEDURE:
Stainless steel NL
THICKNESS 0.3
- Open the Ansys work bench and edit the engineering properties.

- We should edit the model in the space claim if any missing in the component of the model.
- we should edit the model in the model tab for the given model.

- we should rename the components according to the names to be defined.
- we should have to give the Thickness of 0.3mm for the model.
- we should delete the contacts we are unecessary for the model.
- we should mesh the given model by the mesh sizing and method of the model.

- we should have to give the analysis setting for the model of 0.001 sec.

- we should have to create the displacement of the model in Z direction of 500mm.

- we should have to give the Deformation,Equivalent stress,Equivalent strain for the model.
Total Deformation
Equivalent Strain
Equivalent Stress
Car Thickness of 0.2mm for the parameter model.

Total Deformation
Maximum=881.09mm
Equivalent Strain
Maximum=0.032714mm
Equivalent stress
Maximum=2345.57Mpa
0.2 Thickness Car
Total Deformation
Maximum=882.11mm
Equivalent Strain
Maximum=0.032757mm
Equivalent stress

Hence the Car simulation of the given model with the different thivknessof 0.2,0.3,0.5 are been simulated in this project.
