Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

Create the Door Trim Lower Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

1. Input Class A Surface:

firstly, i checked the continuity of class A surface given to exercise of Door trim lower, by using the boundry command. the positions was given with Class A Suface for heat sink creation.

2. Tooling Axis Craetion:

by considering taperd walls of component created Tooling axis by using bisecting method. and performeded draft analysis from this tooling axis on Class A surface.

3. Class B, Class C and Close Body Creation:

to Create Class B surface, Offsetted Class A by 2.5 mm as thickness of wall of Component. then by using extract, boundry, extrapolate, trim, Split, multiple extract, and join created finish class B surface.

after that created Class C surface, once by using reference surface and once with draft with reference axis.

create finish close Class A+B+C Surface by using extract, boundry, extrapolate, trim, Split, multiple extract, and join Commands.

created Close body by using close surface Command.

4. Heat stakes design

created cylindrical surface of diamete 6 and height 20 mm to create heat stake of ID 5 mm and OD 7 mm at near base and heigt of heat stake 20 mm. thicken the heat stake and power copied to it on given locations with input. and union trimed with main body.

5. Locator Design:

Skeched 4 way Locator profile and extruded that profile into surface, then thicken to that surface. did power Copy of locator and union trimed with main body.

6. Draft Analysis:

performed draft analysis with tooling axis to ensure tooling feasibility.
