CLALLENGE:

Create the Dog House for the Door Trim considering the design rules mentioned in the video. Consider the thickness of the part to be 2.5 mm.

"C" is where the doghouse contacts the backside of the surface.

Doghouse wall thickness at the intersection of the part wall ( C ) should be 40% or less than the main wall stock ( T ).
The height of ( B ) should be between 3.0 – 6.0 mm

Given Class A Surface.

Draft Analysis of Class A surface.

Tooling Axis

Tooling axis created by creating a point on the front suface at edge & create a line using point & direction.

Tooling axis in Y axis.

Tooling axis in X axis.

Class B surface.

Create an offset for 2.5mm from the class A surface.

Using Join remove the fillets from the surafce

Extract the surface, expolate & trim the surface.

Provide the fillets to the surface.

CLASS C SURFACE

Create a boundry on the surface & create a sweep with 3⁰ draft & extrapolate the sweeps & trim the extended edges.

Dog House Design

Dog house is feature used on the plastic surafce to avoid the sink marks.

Create an extract where the dog house to be created.

Create a point, plane & line & extarct to surface.

Create an surface using positioned sketch & sweep the sketch with draft of 1.5⁰

Offset the Base surface to 20mm & trim the surface.

split the extra surface by expolate & offsetting of the back suface.

Thicken the surface in part body & provide the draft for inner surface.

provide the fillets to inner surface.

Creation of cutout at dog house intersection

Extract the inner surface of the dog house & offset to 1mm at middle of part then, offset the base surafce 4mm , trim the surface, the spilt the part using the trim.
